Five Faces and Melbourne Sexual Health Centre Win 2025 QLD iAward for Digital Health Innovation

Five Faces, in partnership with Melbourne Sexual Health Centre (MSHC), has been named the 2025 QLD iAwards winner in the Not-for-Profit & Community category.

Five Faces, in partnership with Melbourne Sexual Health Centre (MSHC), has been named the 2025 QLD iAwards winner in the Not-for-Profit & Community category. The award was presented by the Honourable Steve Minnikin MP, Queensland Minister for Customer Services and Open Data and Minister for Small and Family Business.

The winning project, Digital Front Door for MSHC, is a multilingual, privacy-first solution designed to enhance access to sexual health services and improve patient experience. With demand for MSHC’s services surging, the Centre recognised the need for a more efficient, equitable way to serve high-risk communities.

Developed using Five Faces’ configurable DX5 Framework, the solution enables patients to book appointments, complete triage and screening digitally, and receive care in a more streamlined and respectful environment. Since implementation, MSHC has seen:

  • A 95% reduction in phone bookings
  • A front desk workforce reduction from six to two, with staff reallocated to higher-value care
  • Faster triage and improved support for multilingual clients

This innovation exemplifies how digital tools can create real-world impact – reducing administrative burden, empowering patients, and helping health services meet growing demand without compromising care.

Congratulations to Professor Jason Ong, Director of Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, and Rashidur Rahman, Technology Manager at MSHC, for your leadership in delivering this change.

A special thank you to AIIA for recognising technology that drives meaningful community outcomes – and congratulations to all other QLD iAwards winners.
